My kids all love pizza but having seen how much fat & salt there is in a shop bought pizza I prefer to make my own – it’s also great fun to let the kids choose their own healthy toppings & ‘decorate’ their dinner!
The main problem with traditional pizza bases is that they contain yeast which means that you need to allow time for the yeast to work, which I just don’t have time for most days – this recipe can be made in just a few minutes & makes either a large pizza for 2 adults or 4 child sized ones!
INGREDIENTS
2 cups Plain Flour (or 1 cup Plain & 1 Cup Wholemeal)
1/2 teaspoon Salt
2 teaspoons Baking Powder
2/3 cup warm water (you may need a little more)
Olive Oil
Mix dry ingredients together, add water & 1 tablespoon Olive Oil & mix well. Knead for 2-3 mins adding a little more water if needed.
Roll out thinly & rub a little olive oil over both sides of the base to prevent it from sticking to the baking tray.
Add tomato sauce & toppings.
Bake at 180 degrees C for approximately 20 minutes.
Enjoy!
